Kamchatka from volcanoes and the mountains

The Kamchatka peninsula is situated between tectonic plates in an area of active volcanism where today’s natural processes and our planet’s history are uniquely combined.

Thirty active volcanoes, 300 extinct volcanoes and more than 150 groups of thermal and mineral springs are concentrated in this relatively confined area.

Active volcanoes together with glaciers combine forces to create a constantly changing, utterly amazing and stunningly beautiful landscape.
